Good day to everyone that is privileged to go through this word of thought, I pray for the grace to be doer of the word. AMEN
Before we continue I want us to give some basic meaning to the phrase “TOTAL”, in a lame man definition “TOTAL” means the whole amount, add up in number or quantity, complete in extent. 02fb870426356dd50ee4de91411c5f6a.0

Let’s look at the phrase “SURRENDER” which means acceptance of despair, give up or agree to forgo.
Those meaning are so important to us when we talk about TOTAL SURRENDER.

What are we to give TOTAL SURRENDER TO? This is a great and important question we need to act on.
Let me start from the foundational truth. We all are sinners and sin came from existence of our great father and mother (Adam and Eve) which is the old man nature. Jesus Christ came to the world to redeem us from the old man nature which is sin, so for we to be called a Christian we need to give TOTAL SURRENDER to our old man which is the sinful nature in us. For we to give the TOTAL SURRENDER we must first acknowledge our sins, confess them and forsake them. Romans 3:23 and Romans 6:23 talked about the sinful nature of we human.
TOTAL SURRENDER is meant to be compulsory and mandatory for those that want to receive from God and for those that are ready to reign with Christ after this world is being destroyed with fire.
Total surrender can’t be achieved if we aren’t ready to forsake our sins and repent from all the evil things we have done in the past. Proverb 28:13. Total surrender requires us giving out everything and not minding the pleasure we derive from it, so many people keep confessing everyday of the sin they engage in because they can’t let go some worldly pleasure they derive in it, and that is why the Matthew 11:18-20 says “Come unto me, all ye labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”. The “labour” we keep laboring for things of the world and it makes us sin against God. “heavy laden” are that thing we derive joy and pleasure from and which abominable unto God. We can’t have rest in things of the world except we come boldly to the throne of grace and confess our sins to God and then accepting him as our Lord and personal savior.
Our God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness and uncleanness.
John 3:1-7, this passage is talking about Nicodemus whom Jesus told about being born again “verse 3 says: Verily, verily. I say unto you except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” can we now see the essence of being born again we can’t access the Heavenly things without being born again, we can only be born again when we confess our sins, being baptized and from there the Holy Spirit dwells in us because then that old man called sin is being bury, then the new man (Jesus) is made manifested in us. 2ndCorinthians 5:17, Roman 6:1, 6:12, 7:19-20, 8:1-6, 14-15, 8:28.
Steps involved in having a solid total surrender
Commitment: When we talk about being committed, commitment in the sense that, we won’t be committed to things of this world but rather be committed to heavenly things. Romans 8:6 says “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace”. Can we now see why we needed to be committed to things of the God, I pray God help us to be committed and cautious of things above. Colossians 3:2
Decision: When we talk about decision, it goes a long way in our Christianity Journey without a firm decision we can’t go far on our Christianity race. Our decision to say goodbye to sin and not going back into it regardless of the pleasure, enjoyment etc. is what God needs from us, having a clear decision will make our Christianity race to be smooth. 2ndCorinthians 7:10
Prayer: Prayer is every important to us as a Christian to overcome this sinful world, we pray, make decision, commit ourselves to God word in order for us to live a holy and righteous life for God. 2ndCorinthians 12:9, Romans 9:15.
Determination: Our determination is needed too to overcome this sinful world, let’s consider 2ndCorinthians 6:14 which says “Do not be equally yoke with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? Here is what we needed to follow always in our Christianity race if we truly want to be welcome in Heaven. We must not be equally yoke with unbelievers(those that sees sin as a normal thing without thinking of the consequences), they walk in darkness because they aren’t ready to accept Christ, and they sees killing, fornicating, adultery, hatred etc as a normal thing to be done. Galatians 5:19. As true believers that want to live a righteous life he/she must do always from people that aren’t ready to accept Christ as their Lord and Personal savior.
Confession: This is the paramount step needed for we Christians in order for us to access the Heavenly things, our confession goes a long way because it made us whole with the faith in us. Romans 10:10 says “For with heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. We believe with our heart and our mouth makes the confession unto salvation of our souls. After the confession has been made, I urge us not to go back into sin but rather stay focus, study the bible and pray for the grace to overcome every form of temptation that arises again. 2ndCorinthians 10:3-5.
In conclusion, TOTAL SURRENDER is not done by mere mouth only but putting everything into practice, and I pray God will strengthen us to live an acceptable life for him. Amen
