I’ve successfully crossed and gone far from the tanker after what seemed like a relay race which I actually didn’t believe my legs could carry me that fast despite the load I was carrying.
“Babe, you no nice o, see as you run . You no even fit look back abi wait for us small”, one of the guyz we took bike together said. It was then I remembered some people came there with me. “Guy, no vex biko… Man must survive”, I replied.
We trekked two bus stops more, my friends decided to wait for Ibadan bus as I continued my own journey. At a point, I decided to stop at the front of a petroleum station maybe I would get bus. After standing for a while, a woman at the bus stop suggested we trekked further… Along the way, we begged some private vehicles for assistance but they all refused.
I wouldn’t blame them. We all have to be careful because of all these bad news and activities trending in our country. They were just being careful !
My journey continued, We trekked farther than we could imagine as the woman and I kept gisting along the way. When it comes to making friend or striking a smooth conversation between a stranger and I, believe me, I’m a genius.
To be continued…
